Feed the orphans

Updated: Oct 3, 2022

Children live in and eat from the garbage dump in this dangerous area of Cameroon. They search through the garbage to find anything they can eat. Moreover, they have no access to clean water, toilets, or electricity, and nowhere to sleep. Everything they have was collected from the trash. That’s all they have! For them, it feels so normal that they are very happy when they are able to find some good food from the garbage.

Unfortunately, this has gotten worst with the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). This is the most serious global health security threat in decades. The crisis threatens everyone’s way of life, but it is especially difficult for people who are already vulnerable or living in extremely difficult conditions including abandoned children, and orphans

These poor people have to live in the garbage dump and try to scrape out a living scrounging through the filth and waste every day to find some discarded food.

With all these changes, many families are seeking out resources to keep their children academically engaged, entertained, and anxiety-free. A daunting task for any parent, JUSTERCARE and other nonprofit organizations are working to provide families with what they need so we can get through this crisis together. We’re committed to supporting low-income communities to ensure kids get the nutritious food and the education they need.

Please consider making a gift to our Emergency Fund today. 100% of your gift will provide supplies and materials. This is to serve low-income communities. You’ll help us provide the tools needed to care for children and families struggling to survive at this moment around the world.

One of our volunteers visited the area and what was reported:

“It was 3 pm in the afternoon. I was sitting at the agency, waiting for the departure of my bus while eating some food. I ate almost all my food and there was just a tiny bit left. I was full. There was public garbage not far from where I was seated. I threw the rest of my food in there. Surprisingly, in the next minute, I saw a child running fast to go get that food I threw in the public garbage. I was so shocked, I gently approached the child and I ask for his name. He said “David”. Then I asked him why he did that. The child said:” I am sick, I have lung disease. It’s been 3 days I haven’t eaten and I need to eat before taking medication”.

We are so thankful and grateful for your help to bring food and drink to those poor children. A child should not live in the garbage, A child should not eat in the garbage. A child should have nutritious food and get educated. A child should not be happy because he/she was able to find food in the garbage.

Please consider making a contribution to save the lives of those poor children suffering from malnutrition in the mountains of garbage. They need help. Together we can make a difference. They need to have a better life than living in one of the world’s worst garbage dumps.
