You are the solution to the problem of homeless at-risk families due to COVID-19 crisis

Updated: Oct 3, 2022

Helping people at risk for, or experiencing homelessness continues to be a priority at Justercare. The impact of family homelessness on young children, and youth lasts a lifetime, and it will take a concentrated, layered approach that involves the city and state to change the direction the trends are currently heading.

Today, We are telling you the story of Jennifer and her children about to be homeless, because they need your help. Jennifer, her husband Joe, and their 4 daughters are about to get evicted from their apartment. Jennifer and Joe are old adults with underlying medical conditions at increased risk for severe illness. Her elder daughter Sarah just graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree.

Jennifer was extremely working hard as a class teacher in a working-class community to provide for her family. It has been a year ago that her husband, Joe, lost his job due to COVID-19. He was also working in a working-class community as a selling agent in a small shop. Her family went into high distress after Joe lost his job. As this wasn’t enough, One case of COVID-9 was found at the school Jennifer was working at, and 5 teachers including Jennifer got laid off. They’ve been surviving the past few weeks due to some family members and friends helping them. Nothing has been the same for this family since a few days ago, they received a notice from their apartment office manager giving them only 2 weeks before they all get evicted due to rent debt.

This family and many other families need you. They are vulnerable. They are lost. They could be homeless in just a few days. We are hoping to raise funds to ensure Jennifer’s family and many others could find a place to stay.

Please save those families. Please consider making a gift because families are going homeless due to COVID-19 Crisis. We need your support to continue to meet the needs of these vulnerable populations. Your donations will continue to help us respond to the situation.
